BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University graduate student Corey Stalters has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Stalters captured top honors in the shot put with a season-best toss of 49 feet, 3.5 inches (15.02m) this past weekend at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational hosted by Tufts University. The Norton, Massachusetts product helped the Bears place third in the team standings at the meet.

Stalters currently ranks 39th in all of Division III in the shot put and second in the East Region. 

The MASCAC Field Athlete of the Week honor marks the 13th of Stalter's career and fourth indoor distinction.

The BSU men's track & field team will compete on Friday (9:00 AM) at the River Hawk Invitational hosted by UMass Lowell and held at The Track at New Balance.
