
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Alex Huynh and senior Kevin McBirney will be competing at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Huynh qualified in the high jump while McBirney qualified in the 800-meter run. Both are making their debut at an NCAA championship meet.
The national championship meet will be held on Friday, March 14th and Saturday, March 15th at the Golisano Training Center on the campus of Nazareth University in Rochester, New York.
Huynh is seeded 12th (tie) in the high jump. The Stoughton, Massachusetts product recorded his qualifying and school-record leap of six feet, 8.75 inches (2.05m) on March 1st at the Division III New England Championships.
McBirney, who hails from East Bridgewater, Massachusetts is seeded 16th in the 800. McBirney posted his qualifying time of 1:53.00 yesterday at the Tufts National Qualifier.
The preliminary race of the men's 800-meter run is slated to take place on Friday afternoon at 3:45 PM with the finals scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 4:50 PM.
The men's high jump is scheduled for Saturday at noon.
For each nen’s individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the championships.
