Alex Huynh Named MASCAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete & Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Alex Huynh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week.

Huynh placed second and earned All-NEICAAA honors in the high jump with a leap of six feet, seven inches (2.01m) this past weekend at the NEICAAA Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center. The Stoughton, Massachusetts resident also placed second in the high jump with leap of six feet, six inches (1.98m) at the Tufts National Qualifier.

Huynh currently ranks 12th in all of Division III in the high jump and second in the East Region.

The MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor marks the seventh of the season for Huynh, while the MASCAC Field Athlete of the Week accolade is his fourth.

Huynh and fellow teammate Kevin McBirney (Sr., East Bridgewater, Mass.) will compete later this week at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Nazareth University in Rochester, New York.
