GENEVA, Ohio -- Corey Stalters (Norton, Mass.) concluded his superb Bridgewater State University men's track & field career with another All-American performance.
Stalters finished sixth in the javelin at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships Thursday at the Spire Institute & Academy.
The top eight finishers in each event earn First Team All-American recognition.
Stalters placed fifth in his NCAA debut meet in 2022 in Geneva and was fourth in 2024 at Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Making his fourth straight trip to the NCAA outdoor meet, Stalters' best throw was his second, 211 feet and four inches (64.43m), that had him in third place at the time.
Stalters began his round with a throw of 197 feet, eight inches (60.26m). His third and fourth throws were 196 feet, six inches (59.91m) and 195 feet, seven inches (59.62m), respectively.
Stalters ended with consecutive throws of 206 feet, five inches (62.93m).
The graduate student holds the BSU record in the javelin at 226 feet, two inches (68.94m).
A four-time All-New England selection and a New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association champion, Stalters is a three-time Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference champion.
Stalters entered the competition as the No. 2 seed with his record throw at the Division III New England Championships earlier this month.
Wheaton College freshman Scott Sloan (Barrington, R.I.) won the javelin with a throw of 223 feet (67.97m) on his sixth and final try.
Sloan did not break 200 feet on any of his first five attempts, then rallied to win the national championship for the Norton, Mass., school.
Two other MASCAC athletes were in the javelin event.
Top-seeded Liam Bourassa (Shirley, Mass.) of Fitchburg State University was ninth with a throw of 205 feet, four inches (62.59m).
Liam Higgins (Weymouth, Mass.) of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy wound up 12th with a throw of 192 feet, one inch (58.55m).
Both Bourassa and Higgins garnered Second Team All-America accolades for their performances.
