Stalters Sets Javelin Mark, Earns All-New England Honors  at DIII New England Championships

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Bridgewater State University graduate student Corey Stalters (Norton, Mass.) broke his own school record in the javelin and garnered All-New England honors on Friday afternoon at the 2025 Division III New England Championships held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Stalters placed second in the javelin with a toss of 226 feet, two inches (68.94m) as he eclipsed his previpus BSU mark of 224 feet, five inches (68.40m) set earlier this season at the Emory Thrills in the Hills.

The top eight placewinners in each event at the two-day championship meet garner All-New England accolades.

Freshman Alex Huynh (Stoughton, Mass.) earned All-New England honors in the long jump as he placed sixth with a leap of 23 feet (7.01m). Junior Chris Beaulieu (Monson, Mass.) finished 18th (21'6"/6.55m) in the long jump while sophomore Jasen Jean-Louis (Framingham, Mass.) finished 24th (20'3.75"/6.19m).

Senior Chigozie Adigwe (Lowell, Mass.) finished second in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles and qualified for the finals with a time of 14.81 seconds.

Junior Ryker King (Wareham, Mass.) competed in the first five events of the decathlon on Friday and checks in with 2,908 points as he is currently in eighth place.

King's top event on Friday was the 400-meter dash. He recorded a time of 51.81 seconds in the 400 to amass 733 points. King also tallied 719 points in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.66 seconds; 512 points in the high jump with a leap of five feet, 5.25 inches (1.66M); 496 points in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet, 3.25 inches (5.59m); and 448 points in the shot put with a toss of 30 feet, nine inches (9.27m).

The two-day Division III New England Championships will conclude on Saturday with events getting underway at 11:00 AM.
