
BOSTON, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University graduate student Corey Stalters (Norton, Mass.) and freshman Alex Huynh (Stoughton, Mass.) garnered All-New England honors on Friday at the Division III New England Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships held at The Track at New Balance.
Stalters placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 51 feet, 0.75 inches (15.56m), while Huynh placed fourth in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 22 feet, 11 inches (6.98m).
The top ten placewinners in each event at the meet earn DIII All-New England accolades.
Senior Chigozie Adigwe (Lowell, Mass.) finished 13th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.58 seconds.
The Bears are in sixth place after day one of the two-day championship meet with ten points. Amherst College leads all teams with 43 points. Tufts University (38 pts.) and Bates College (25 pts.) round out the top three teams in the men's standings.
