Men's Tennis Falls to Roger Williams, 7-0

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to visiting Roger Williams University on Thursday afternoon at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.

The visiting Hawks improve to 10-1 on the season with their tenth straight win while the Bears fall to 1-2. Roger Williams has won each of the last nine meetings of the two teams.

RWU swept the three doubles matches and captured all six of the singles flights.

Freshman Bronson DeSisto (Las Vegas, Nev.) and junior Ryan Carroll (Holden, Mass.) paced the Hawks at the top of the lineup. DeSisto posted a 6-0, 6-3 straight set win at the top singles flight while Carroll earnd a 6-1, 6-2 straight set decision at second singles. The duo also teamed up for a 6-3 decision at number one doubles.

Sophomore Camden Poitras (Londonderry, N.H.) also picked up a pair of wins for Roger Williams. Poitras breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 straight set triumph at third singles and paired with clasmate Will Hurlbut (Holden, Mass.) for a 6-1 victory at second doubles.

Up Next: The Bears open Little East Conference play on Saturday afternoon as they take on Vermont State Castleton at two o'clock here at the Rosen Courts. The Hawks travel to Western New England University on Friday afternoon for a 3:30 Conference of New England match with the Golden Bears.
