BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week, Bridgewater State University freshman Matthew Jo has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Rookie Swimmer of the Week.

Jo captured top honors in the 1,000 freestyle with a season-best time of 10:40.46 in the Bears' meet against Division II Bentley University. He also placed second in the 500 freestyle with a season-best time of 5:04.69, and finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.45).

This past weekend in a Senior Day meet with Babson College, Jo placed second in the 100 backstroke (59.33), third in the 1,650 freestyle (19:04.92), and swam the third leg (23.76) on the fifth place 200 freestyle relay team (1:39.59).

The Little East Rookie of the Week honor marks the second of Jo's career.

The BSU swimming and diving teams wrap up regular season competition on Saturday when they travel to Little East Conference foe Plymouth State University for a two o'clock dual meet with the Panthers.
