Men's Swimming & Diving Falls to DII Bentley, 186-89

WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Bridgwater State University men's swimming & diving team dropped a 186-89 Decision to Division II Bentley University on Thursday evening at the Dana Center Pool.

Freshman Aaron Fowler (Hyde Park, Mass.) captured top honors in the 200 individual medley (2:02.87) and placed second in both the 200 freestyle (1:51.85) and 100 backstroke (57.28) to lead the way for Bridgewater State.

Fowler also competed on the Bears' second place 200 medley relay (1:42.65) along with sophomores Ryan McKenzie (Charlton, Mass.) and Cooper Sever (Edgewater, Md.) and classmate Jirat Saengthong (Watertown, Mass.).

Sever was the first to touch the wall in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.28).

Senior Cooper Castellone (South Windsor, Conn.) finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.09), while seniors Connor Young (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Joseph Pervier (Baldwinville, Mass.) also placed second in the 1,000 freestyle (10:48.23) and 50 backstroke (27.65), respectively.

McKenzie, Saengthong, Castellone and senior Brennan Gravanda (Wilbraham, Mass.) capped off the meet with a second place performance in the 200 freestyle relay (1:32.03).

The Bears (3-4) will travel to Babson College on Saturday morning to take on the Beavers at 11:00 AM.
