Men's Swimming & Diving Drops 193-69 Decision to Wheaton

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team hosted Wheaton College on Saturday afternoon at the Moriarty Pool.

The visiting Lyons (1-2) posted a 193-69 win over the Bears (1-2).

Freshman Aaron Fowler (Brookline, Mass.) led the way for Bridgewater State. Fowler captured top honors in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:02.12 and placed second in the 100 freestyle (48.89).

The BSU foursome of Fowler, classmate Jirat Saengthong (Watertown, Mass.), sophomore Richard Palanza (Mansfield, Mass.) and senior Joseph Pervier (Baldwinville, Mass.) finished second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:31.76.

Sophomore Cooper Sever (Edgewater, Md.) added a second-place finish for the Bears in the 200 backstroke as he touched the wall in 2:07.51.

The BSU swimming and diving teams are back in action next Friday evening as the Bears entertain Roger Williams University at five o'clock.
