Castellone, Callahan Lead Men’s Swimming & Diving at Little East Championships

WELLESLEY, Mass.  Junior Cooper Castellone (South Windsor, Conn.) and freshman Brady Callahan (Taunton, Mass.) each captured individual titles to lead the Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team on Saturday at the 2023 Little East Conference Swimming & Diving Championships held at the Boston Sports Institute.

Castellone placed first in the finals of the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.88 seconds as he picked up his third gold medal at the three-day championship meet. On Friday, Castellone won the Little East crown in the 50 breaststroke as well as the 400 medley relay.

Callahan captured top honors in the 100 backstroke with a career-best and finals time of 54.23 seconds.

The LEC championship meet continues on Sunday morning with events getting underway at ten o'clock. The defending champion Bears are currently in first place at the meet with 672 points. Keene State University is in second place with 579 points.
