Men's Swimming & Diving Falls to Roger Williams, 212-44

BRISTOL, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team dropped a 212-44 decision to Roger Williams University on Saturday afternoon at the RWU Aquatics Center.

The Hawks improve to 2-0 in dual meet competition on the season, while the Bears fall to 3-4.

The BSU foursome of senior Chris Anastasiades (Wakefield, Mass.), freshman Ryan McKenzie (Charlton, Mass.), senior Eric Silva (Dighton, Mass.) and junior Joseph Pervier (Baldwinville, Mass.) placed second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:32.36.

Juniors Brennan Gravanda (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Cooper Castellone (South Windsor, Conn.) teamed with Anastasiades and Pervier to finish third in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:54.74.

The Bears also received third place showings from junior Connor Young (Chelmsford, Mass.) in both the 1,000 freestyle (11:11.98) and 500 freestyle (5:23.53), Anastasiades in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.85) and 100 butterfly (56.10), and senior Antonio Gonzalez (Cranston, R.I.) in the 200 breaststroke (2:31.54).

The Bears are off until Saturday, December 3rd when they host the BSU Invitational at noon.
