Men's Swimming & Diving Downs UMass Dartmouth, 141-129

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team posted a 141-129 victory over visiting UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday evening at the Dr. Mary Jo Moriarty Pool.

The Bears won ten of the 16 events as they improved to 2-0 in dual meet competition on the young season.

Senior Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) captured three individual events and was a part of a winning relay squad to pace Bridgewater State.

Willis was the first to touch the wall in the 50 breaststroke (27.76), 50 freestyle (23.23) and 200 breaststroke (2:16.45).

The Bears' relay team featuring senior Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.), Willis, freshman Ben Wilkinson (Reading, England) and senior Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay as the foursome posted a time of 1:41.15.

Santos, Wilkinson, Flaherty and freshman Chris Anastasiades (Wakefield, Mass.) recorded a winning time of 3:29.11 in the 400 freestyle relay to close out the meet.

Anastasiades also added a pair of victories in the 200 freestyle (1:51.90) and 200 individual medley (2:05.24), while Flaherty captured top honors in both the 50 backstroke (25.61) and 200 backstroke (2:09.96). Santos rounded out the Bears' individual event winners as he placed first in the 100 freestyle (51.04).

In upcoming action, the Bears head to UMass Dartmouth on Saturday for the Louise Goodrum Invitational.
