Dylon Willis Named NEISDA Butch Hutchinson Male Swimmer of the Meet

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Dylon Willis has been selected as the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Butch Hutchinson Male Swimmer of the Meet.

Willis, the first Bear to ever earn the honor, garnered the accolade for his performance at the four-day NEISDA Championships held at MIT. The Attleboro, Massachusetts product won three events at the meet as he placed first in the 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.

Willis broke a 22-year old meet record and eclipsed his own school mark in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 56.71 seconds. He also broke his own BSU record in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 25.99 seconds.

Willis also earned All-NEISDA (top three) honors in the 200 medley relay, along with teammates Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.), Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.) and Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.), and in the 400 medley relay with Rose, Flaherty and Michael Leung (Wakefield, Mass). The 200 medley relay squad eclipsed the school record with a time of 1:34.53.
