CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) set the meet record in the 100 breaststroke to lead the Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team during day three of the 2019 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships on Saturday at the MIT Alumni Pool.

Willis posted a time of 56.71 seconds in the 100 breaststroke to capture the meet title as he eclipsed the previous NEISDA record of 57.16 seconds set by Mike Garrett of Wesleyan University in 1997. Willis also broke his own BSU school mark of 57.27 seconds set last season at the NEISDA Championships.

The Bears' relay squad featuring Willis, classmates Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.) and Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.), and senior Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) garnered All-NEISDA honors and eclipsed the school record in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:34.53. The foursome broke the previous mark of 1:35.34 set last season at the NEISDA Championships.

Rose added an All-NEISDA performance in the 1,000 freestyle as he place third in the event with a time of 10:08.85.

Senior Alexander Belinsky (Norton, Mass.) also picked up All-NEISDA accolades for the Bridgewater State as he placed third in the finals of the one-meter diving competition with a score of 382.90 points.

The Bears are tied for fourth place in the team standings with 370 points heading into the fourth and final day of the championships meet.
