
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior defender Jacob Ramos has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Week. Ramos shares the weekly honor along with Salem State's Kyle Lobao.
Ramos led the Bears’ defensive effort in a 1-0-1 week which included a 3-2 win over the University of Saint Joseph and a 1-1 tie with Wentworth. The New Bedford, Massachusetts product helped limit Bridgewater’s opponents to just ten shots on frame over the two games. Ramos also dished out a pair of a assists, including on the game-winning goal, in the win over Saint Joseph.
Through three games this season, Ramos has a goal and two assists for four points.
In 47 career games over four seasons at Bridgewater State, Ramos has recorded four goals and five assists for 13 points.
The MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week honor marks the first of Ramos' career.
The BSU men's soccer team is currently 1-1-1 on the young season. The Bears travel to Brandeis University on Tuesday night for a seven o'clock game with the Judges.
