BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore forward Hector Bucio has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Bucio tallied three goals and a pair of assists for eight points in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears. The North Easton, Massachusetts native potted two goals and added an assist in a 6-2 MASCAC win on the road over MCLA, and scored the game-winning goal and dished out an assist in a 5-1 victory over Rhode Island College.

Through 17 games this season, Bucio has produced six goals and two assists for 14 points. Two of his six goals have been game-winners.

Bucio is currently tied for fourth among the MASCAC leaders in goals and tied for sixth in scoring.

In 34 career games over his first two seasons at Bridgewater State, Bucio has recorded seven goals and three assists for 17 points.

The MASCAC Player of the Week honor marks the first of Bucio's career.

The BSU men's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with an overall record of 10-5-2 including a 6-1-0 MASCAC mark. The Bears are the top seed in this week's MASCAC Tournament and will host a semifinal round game on Friday afternoon at 3:30.
