
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior second baseman Scott Emerson, junior first baseman Ryan Flaherty and senior shortstop Kevin Lindsay have been selected to the 2025 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region Two Team.
Emerson earned first team honors, Flaherty was named to the second team and Lindsay was voted to the third team. Emerson is making his fourth straight appearance on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Two Team while Lindsay garnered all-region accolades for the second consecutive season.
A Peaboy, Massachusetts product, Emerson started all 45 games in 2025 and batted .378 with 70 hits in 185 at-bats with 56 runs scored. He recorded 18 extra-base hits from the leadoff spot with ten doubles, three triples and five homers while driving in 31 runs.
Emerson also posted a .546 slugging percentage as well as a .463 on-base percentage and stole 25 bases in 25 attempts. Defensively, he recorded 69 putouts and 106 assists in the field (predominantly at second base) and helped turn 22 double plays.
Emerson set the Bears' single-season mark for at bats and tied BSU Hall of Famer Ed Grueter's 1991 record of 52 singles. He was also three hits shy of Chad Cambra's single-season hits record of 73 set in 2003..
In 176 career games with the Bears, Emerson batted .355 (243-684) with 243 hits, including 32 doubles, 11 triples and eight homers. He also walked 75 times, was hit by a pitch on 37 occasions and stole 107 bases in 114 attempts.
Emerson leaves Bridgewater State as the Bears' all-time leader in hits, at bats, runs, singles, triples (tied) and stolen bases. He is also second all-time in both games played and total bases (321), tied for fifth in doubles and tied for sixth in extra base hits (51).
Flaherty slugged his way to a school record 17 home runs and 64 RBI in 2025 while batting .298 (51-171) with seven doubles and 36 runs scored. The Duxbury, Massachusetts native also notched 109 total bases and posted a .637 sluggling percentage.
At first base, Flaherty committed just three errors in 310 chances (287 putouts, 20 assists) for a .990 fielding percentage.
In 87 games over his first two seasons with the Bears, Flaherty checks in with a a .327 career batting average (107-327) with 20 doubles, 23 home runs, 80 runs scored and 109 RBI to go along with a .599 slugging percentage. He is presently third among the program's all-time home runs leaders traling only John Kiely (29 HR, 1986-87) and Jay Doherty (27 HR, 1989-92).
Lindsay started 40 games at shortstop and batted .350 this season with 55 hits in 157 at-bats with 41 runs scored. The East Bridgewater, Massachusetts product also checked in with eight doubles, a triple, five stolen bases, 37 RBI, and a .440 on-base percentage.
a 2023 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Region Two All-Defensive Team selection, Lindsay committed just ten errors in 181 chances (57 putouts, 114 assists) this season for a .945 fielding percentage. He also helped turn 20 double plays.
The Bears all-time leader in games played, Lindsay batted .333 (220-660) in 200 games in a BSU uniform with 31 doubles, six triples, 105 RBI and 170 runs. He also walked 83 times, was hit by a pitch on 30 occasions and stole 64 bases.
Lindsay ranks second among the Bears' all-time leaders in at bats, runs and singles (183), third in both hits and walks (tied), and seventh in doubles (tied).
Emerson, Flaherty and Lindsay helped the Bears capture their fourth straight Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) regular season and tournament championships in 2025. The Bears (30-15) qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament for the fourth straight year and 18th time overall, and hosted a four-team regional at Alumni Park. The Bears reached the 30-win mark for the seventh time in program history and for the third time in the last four years
