Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision to Framingham State in MASCAC Quarterfinals

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Fourth seeded Framingham State University defeated fifth seed Bridgewater State University, 3-0, on Tuesday night in the quarterfinal round of the 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Tournament at Logan Gymnasium.

The Rams (19-10) advance to the tournament semifinals and will face top-seeded Westfield State University in Westfield on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM. The Bears end the season with an overall record of 4-13.

Framingham secured the victory by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-19. The Rams were paced by 14 kills from Hailey Sanders (Franklin, Mass.) who also posted .455 hitting percentage. Anna Szymanski (Harwinton, Conn.) chipped in with 11 kills and a .455 hitting percentage while Natalie Reynolds (Beverly, Mass.) notched six kills and three solo blocks. Carly Beaulieu (Sutton, Mass.) led the defensive effort with 17 digs and two aces while Stella Bailey finished with 35 assists and a pair of aces.

The Bears were led on the attack by eight kills from Abigail Reardon (Fairhaven, Mass.). Reardon posted a .333 hitting percentage and added three blocks (two solo). Meaghan Coutu (Brookline, N.H.) checked in with six kills and seven digs while Sarah Brogioli (Milford, Mass.) and Lily Welch (Hanson, Mass.) finished the match with four kills apiece. The Bears defense was led by eight digs from Xin Ai Robinson (Evans Mills, N.Y.) and six by Lilly Misay (New Bedford, Mass.).
