BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior setter Casey Holmes has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Player of the Week.

Holmes averaged five kills, 17 assists, three service aces and 5.5 digs in a pair of matches for the Bears last week. The Norton, Massachusetts product tallied six kills, 16 assists, five aces and four digs in a 3-0 season-opening win over Mount Holyoke College. She also notched four kills, 18 assists, one ace and seven digs in a 3-1 setback to Becker College.

In 41 matches over three seasons with the Bears, Holmes has amassed 38 kills, 318 assists, 24 aces, 139 digs and 12 blocks (three solo). 

Holmes and the BSU volleyball team will return to the court on Wednesday evening when the Bears entertain Lasell College at six.
