BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore middle blocker Erin Clifford (Hanson, Mass.) has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Rookie of the Year to highlight the Bears' four representatives on the 2016 All-MASCAC Volleyball Team.

Senior outside hitter Hannah Maymon (Narragansett, R.I.) and senior setter Charleyne Panner (Gilford, N.H.) garnered All-MASCAC First Team honors from Bridgewater State, while Clifford and sophomore libero Cassidy Tyros (Chelmsford, Mass.) were named to the All-MASCAC Second Team.

Maymon is making her fourth straight appearance on the All-MASCAC Team, while this is Panner's third straight All-MASCAC First Team selection.

Maymon has 301 kills, 29 aces, 225 digs and 21 blocks (five solo) in 29 matches this season. She ranks second in the MASCAC in kills and tenth in hitting percentage (.183).

In 133 matches over four seasons with the Bears, Maymon has amassed 1,256 kills, 107 aces, 1,023 digs and 89 blocks (29 solo). She is just the third player in program history to reach the millennium milestone in both kills and digs.

Panner checks in with 86 kills, 864 assists, 24 aces and 246 digs also in 29 matches this season. She leads the MASCAC in assists and is second in assists per set (8.31).

In 118 matches over four seasons at BSU, Panner has accumulated 287 kills, 3,283 assists, 128 aces, 897 digs and 39 blocks. She is the Bears' all-time leader in assists and the first player in program history to reach the 3,000 milestone.

Clifford has put together a terrific rookie campaign as she has also appeared in all 29 matches. She is fifth overall in the MASCAC with 247 kills and ranks second with a .279 hitting percentage. Clifford is also third among the conference leaders in solo blocks (23) and seventh overall in total blocks (48).

In 26 matches this season, Tyros has 22 assists, 22 aces and 500 digs to her credit. She currently leads the MASCAC in digs per set (5.21) and ranks second in total digs. Tyros has produced 880 digs and 38 aces over her first two seasons at Bridgewater State.

The BSU volleyball team is presently 10-19 (3-3 MASCAC) on the season. Seeded fourth in this week's MASCAC Tournament, the Bears host #5 seed Worcester State University in a quarterfinal round match tonight at six.

Notes: Clifford is the Bears' first MASCAC Volleyball Rookie of the Year since Shelly DePina earned the honor in 2008....Clifford has garnered MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors four times this season including each of the last three weeks.
