Volleyball Falls to #1 Seed Framingham State in MASCAC Semifinals

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- The fourth-seeded Bridgewater State University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-16) decision to #1 seed Framingham State University in the semifinal round of the 2016 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Tournament on Saturday.

With the win, the Rams improved to 21-10 on the year and advanced the MASCAC Tournament championship match. The Bears end the season with an overall record of 11-20.

The Rams were paced by senior Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) who had a game high 19 kills with a hitting percentage of .405. Senior Julia Wan (South Deerfield, Mass.) added 12 kills with a hitting percentage of .333. Sophomore Mackenzie Whalen (Norton, Mass.) had a game-high 34 assists to go along with eight digs.

The Bears received a double-double performance from senior Hannah Maymon (Narragansett, R.I.) who registered 11 kills and 12 digs. Senior Clara Goncalves (Dennis, Mass.) added nine kills and sophomore Cassidy Tyros (Chelmsford, Mass.) picked up a match-high 17 digs. BSU setter Charleyne Panner (Gilford, Mass.) recorded 27 assist, seven digs and a solo block.

Notes: Maymon finished her career ranked fourth in program history with 1,279 kills and eight with 1,043 digs....Panners is the Bears' all-time leader with 3,350 assists.
