Hannah Maymon Named MASCAC Volleyball Player & Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University freshman outside hitter Hannah Maymon has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player and Rookie of the Week.

Maymon averaged 9.25 kills and 2.25 digs in a 2-2 week for the Bears which included a 3-1 MASCAC win over Worcester State.  The Narragansett, Rhode Island native notched 10 kills, three digs and an assisted block in the win over the Lancers.

Maymon also earned All-Tournament honors at the Hall of Fame Invitational over the weekend, tallying 27 kills and six digs in three matches.  She equaled her season-high with 15 kills in the Bears’ 3-1 win over tournament host Mount Holyoke College.

In 31 matches this season, Maymon has amassed 254 kills, a .194 hitting percentage, 218 digs, 21 b locks and seven aces.  She ranks fifth in the MASCAC in kills, seventh in digs and 12th in hitting percentage.

The BSU volleyball team is currently 14-17 on the season and 3-2 in the MASCAC.  The Bears, who have clinched the third seed for next week’s MASCAC Tournament, will travel to conference foe MCLA on Saturday for the regular season finale.
