Volleyball Falls to Bowdoin at Hall of Fame Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- The Bowdoin College volleyball team extended its win streak to 12 matches with a 3-0 victory over Bridgewater State University on the opening night of the Hall of Fame Invitational hosted by Mount Holyoke.

The Polar Bears (19-4) won by set scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-15 and will return to action Saturday with a pair of matches, looking to reach the 20-win plateau for the third consecutive season. Bowdoin will face Wellesley at Smith College at 11 AM and Wheaton at Mount Holyoke at 3 PM.

Bridgewater slips to 13-16 and will take on Colby at 11 AM and host Mount Holyoke at 1 PM. Both matches will be held at Mount Holyoke.

Christy Jewett continued her torrid play for Bowdoin, racking up 13 kills, eight digs, six blocks, and three aces in the win.  Emma Patterson had seven kills and five blocks while Taylor Vail pitched in 21 digs.  Quincy Leech dealt 33 assists in the victory.

Kristen Robillard notched 11 digs to lead Bridgewater State, while Michelle Atkins tallied seven kills and one block assist and Charleyne Panner added ten assists, four digs and one ace.  Hannah Maymon chipped in with six kills and one block assist.
