Volleyball Falls to MASCAC Foe Framingham State, 3-0

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Framingham State University volleyball team remained unbeaten in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play as the visiting Rams downed Bridgewater State University, 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-10), on Tuesday evening at the Tinsley Center.

The defending champion Rams improve to 18-4 on the season and 4-0 in the MASCAC, while the host Bears slip to 12-13 overall and 2-2 in conference play. Framingham has won seven straight matches, while Bridgewater has dropped four of its last five.

Attacking was the story of the match, as the Rams posted a .333 hitting percentage while the Bears committed 22 attacking errors and record just 15 kills.

Sophomore outside hitter Danielle Girard (Tivoli, N.Y.) paced Framingham with eight kills, a match-high 22 digs, two aces and two solo blocks.  Freshman right side hitter Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) added a match-best ten kills to go along with two solo blocks, while senior outside hitter Andressa Fernandes (Framingham, Mass.) tallied seven kills and six digs.  Junior setter Maribeth Martin (Barnstable, Mass.) led all players with 22 assists.

BSU senior libero Kristen Robillard (Swansea, Mass.) led the way for the Bears with ten digs, while freshman outside hitter Hannah Maymon (Narragansett, R.I.) notched seven kills and seven digs. Freshman setter Charleyne Panner (Gilford, N.H.) added ten assists and four digs.

In upcoming action, Bridgewater competes at a non-conference tri-match hosted by Western Connecticut State University on Saturday beginning at 11:00 AM.  Framingham hosts non-league foe Elms College on Thursday night at seven.
