Robillard Earns All-Tournament Honors to Lead Volleyball at JWU Fall Classic

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior libero Kristen Robillard (Swansea, Mass.) earned All-Tournament honors to lead the BSU volleyball team during the second day of the JWU Fall Classic on Saturday in Providence.

The Bears finished 2-2 during the two-day tournament.  On Saturday, Bridgewater dropped a 3-1 (19-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-18) decision to host Johnson & Wales University but capped off the tournament with a 3-2 (20-25, 26-24, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11) victory over Plymouth State University.

Robillard notched 17 digs, an ace and a kill in the setback to JWU, and followed that up with 18 digs and an ace in the Bears win over Plymouth. With her 56 digs at the tournament, Robillard moved past Shannon Desmond (2005-2006) into third place on the Bears' all-time list.  She has 1,234 digs in three seasons at Bridgewater State.

Senior defensive specialist Danielle Dean (Gilford, N.H.) notched a season-high 30 digs in the victory over the Panthers as she became the seventh player in program history to reach the 1,000-dig milestone.  Dean has 1,008 digs in three seasons with the Bears.

Freshman outside hitter Hannah Maymon (Narragansett, R.I.) notched a career-high 15 kills to go along with an ace and an assisted block in the win over the Panthers.  She also recorded 12 kills, two aces and two assisted blocks in the loss to the Wildcats.

Freshman setter Charleyne Panner (Gilford, N.H.) was terrific in the two matches as she notched 16 assists, 13 digs, two kills and one ace against Johnson & Wales, and 38 assists, 23 digs, four kills, one ace and one assisted block versus Plymouth.

In upcoming action, Bridgewater travels to Simmons College on Tuesday evening for a seven o'clock match with the Sharks.
