ATLANTA, Ga. -- Three members of the Bridgewater State University women's outdoor track & field team competed on a rainy and windy Friday afternoon at the Emory Spring Break Classic on the campus of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Junior Serenity Sands (East Bridgewater, Mass.) captured the meet title in the high jump with a leap of five feet, five inches (1.65m). Sands was less than an inch shy of her personal-best mark of five feet, 5.75 inches (1.67m) recorded last season at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic.

Senior Abbi Peterson (Watertown, Mass.) placed second behind Sands in the high jump with a mark of five feet, three inches (1.60m).

Senior Alison McDonough (Halifax, Mass.) finished fifth in the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, 11.25 inches (5.16m).

The Emory Spring Break Classic continues on Saturday with Sands and McDonugh competing in the 100-meter hurdles.
