BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Jenise Madden has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Madden captured the meet title in the 5,000-meter run this past weekend at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational hosted by Tufts University. The Milford, Massachusetts product ran a season-best time of 18:10.88 as she outdistanced the field by over 30 seconds.

Madden currently ranks 33rd in all of Division III in the 5,000 and 12th in New England.

The MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor marks the third of Madden’s career and second indoor distinction. She is also a four-time recipient of the MASCAC Cross Country Runner of the Week award.

The BSU indoor track & field teams are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Plymouth State University for the Panther Invitational.
