BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Kira Gilbreath has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Gilbreath captured the New England title and earned All-New England honors in the shot put at the Division III New England Championships held this past weekend at MIT. The West Haven, Utah product placed first in the shot with a toss of 42 feet, 10.75 inches (13.07m).

Gilbreath currently ranks 13th in all of Division III in the shot put.

After a week off, Gilbreath will be competing at the MIT Last Chance Qualifier on Thursday, May 17th.
