Andrews Sets School Record, Garners All-NEICAAA Honors

HANOVER, N.H. -- Bridgewater State University junior Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) broke the school record in the 400-meter hurdles and garnered All-NEICAAA honors on Saturday at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships hosted by Dartmouth College.

Andrews posted a time of 1:01.37 in the finals of the 400 hurdles to place fifth in the event. She eclipsed Rachel Smith's previous school mark of 1:02.29 set back in 2008.

Andrews currently ranks tenth in all of Division III in the 400-meter hurdles.

The Bears wrapped up the two-day meet tied for 33rd place in the team standings with four points.

Next Thursday, several members of the BSU outdoor track & field teams will compete at the MIT Last Chance Qualifier.
