BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Molly Dewar has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

A native of Grafton, Massachusetts, Dewar won the discus throw at the 10th Annual ECSU Invitational held this past weekend at Eastern Connecticut State University. She recorded a personal-best toss of 122 feet, 11 inches (37.47m) in the event.

Dewar also placed ninth in the shot put with mark of 31 feet, 4.75 inches (9.57m) as she helped the Bears' capture the team title at the meet. 

Dewar has qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the discus.

The outdoor season continues for the BSU women's track & field team on Saturday when the Bears compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships hosted by Westfield State University.
