BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University sophomore Ellie Bucknell has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Bucknell garnered All-New England honors in the javelin at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Williams College this past weekend. The New Bedford, Massachusetts product placed second in the event with a season-best throw of  137 feet (41.77m).

Bucknell currently ranks 15th in all of Division III in the javelin.

Qualifying members of the BSU women's outdoor track & field team will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Association Championships hosted by Williams on Friday and Saturday of this week. Bucknell will be competing in the javelin at the meet.
