BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Ellie Bucknell has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Bucknell captured the conference individual title in the javelin at the MASCAC Championships this past weekend. The New Bedford, Massachusetts product recorded a career-best toss of 127 feet, nine inches (38.93m) as she also placed first in the New England Alliance results.

 On Friday and Saturday, qualifying members of the BSU women's outdoor track & field team will compete at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Williams College.

Bucknell has qualified for DIII New Englands in the javelin. She currently ranks 32nd in all of Division III in the event.
