Six Bears Garner USTFCCCA All-New England Honors

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The United State Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees for the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season.

To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-five of an individual event in the region according to final Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS) data or be part of a top-three relay team.

For the BSU women's team, senior Danielle Poto (North Andover, Mass.), junior Samantha Richner (Hanson, Mass.) and freshman Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) all earned All-New England honors. Poto in the 10,000-meter run, Richner in both the high jump and the heptathlon, and Andrews in the 400-meter dash as well as the 100-meter hurdles.

On the men's side, seniors Andrew Couture (Dighton, Mass.), Josh Goehring (Haverhill, Mass.) and Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) each garnered All-New England accolades. Couture in the 100-meter dash, Goehring in the 800-meter run, and Murtagh in the 110-meter hurdles.

Poto, Richner, Andrews, Goehring and Murtagh will be competing at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships later this week at Walston-Hoover Stadium on the campus of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
