Murtagh Advances to Finals, Andrews Places 11th at NCAA Championships

GRINNELL, Iowa – Bridgewater State University senior and returning All-American Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) advanced to the finals of the men’s 60-meter hurdles during day one of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held on Friday at the Charles Benson Bear '39 Recreation and Athletic Center on the campus of Grinnell College.

Seeded sixth in the hurdles, Murtagh finished fifth in Friday’s preliminaries as he posted a season-best time of 8.03 seconds. By finishing in the top eight, Murtagh advances to Saturday’s finals.

The finals of the 60-meter hurdles is scheduled for 3:05 PM (EST) on Saturday.

Freshman Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.), making her first appearance at the national championships, placed 11th in the preliminaries of the women’s 400-meter dash with a time of 57.75 seconds.
