Andrews Captures ECAC Title in the 400

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Freshman Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) captured the individual title in the 400-meter dash to lead the Bridgewater State University women's indoor track & field team during the second and final day of the 2016 ECAC Division III Championships held on Saturday at the Ocean Breeze Park Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York.

Andrews posted a time of 57.38 seconds in the 400 as she edged Corinne Glass (57.62) of Moravian.

Junior Samantha Richner (Hanson, Mass.), senior Ariele Krevosky (Oxford, Mass.) and the 4x800-meter relay also garnered All-ECAC honors for the Bears.

Richner placed fourth in the high jump (5'4.5"/1.64m), while Krevosky finished eighth in the long jump (17'3.75"/5.28m).

The 4x800-meter relay squad featuring senior Theresa Connolly (North Andover, Mass.), juniors Kristyn Grattan (Hanover, Mass.) and Sabrina Rizzo (Peabody, Mass.) and freshman Anyelina Martinez (Lawrence, Mass.) placed fifth with a time of 9:35.56.

The Bears finished in 15th place in the team standings with 20 points.

NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships selections will be revealed Monday morning at nine.
