Women's Track & Field Competes at Tufts Stampede

MEDFORD, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's indoor track & field team competed at the non-scoring Tufts Stampede on Saturday.

Sophomore Sabrina Rizzo (Peabody, Mass.) placed fifth in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:46.83, while classmate Samantha Richner (Hanson, Mass.) finished sixth in the high jump with a leap of four feet, 11.75 inches (1.52 meters).

Freshman Kristina Harding (North Attleboro, Mass.) placed tenth in both the 60-meter hurdles (10.45) and the long jump (14'5.75") as well as 15th in the triple jump (29'11.25").

Sophomore Sydney Quirk (Plymouth, Mass.) recorded a time of 1:58.24 to finish ninth in the 600, while grad student Jacey Peers (Elsmford, N.Y.) and sophomore Sydney Vaughn (Lowell, Mass.) each placed tenth in their respective events.  Peers crossed the finish line in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:45.05, while Vaughn posted a time of 1:05.13 in the 400-meter dash.

Sophomore Kristyn Grattan (Hanover, Mass.) placed 14th in the 800-meter run (2:41.18), while junior Sheila O'Sullivan (Westwood, Mass.) also finished 14th in the shot put (33'8.75"). 

On Friday, junior Ariele Krevosky (Oxford, Mass.) placed third in the pentathlon with a score of 2,949 points.

Next weekend, the BSU indoor track & field teams compete at the Tufts Invitational.
