Women's Track & Field Competes at Tufts Cupid Challenge

MEDFORD, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's indoor track & field team competed at the Tufts Cupid Challenge on Saturday.

The Bears placed 15th in the team standings with 13 points.  MIT finished first with 190 points followed by the host Jumbos (115 pts.) and Amherst College (108 pts.).

Junior Ariele Krevosky (Oxford, Mass.) was the Bears' top placewinner as she finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.48 seconds.  Krevosky, who is currently ranked 22nd in all of Division III in the pentathlon, also recorded a time of 9.44 seconds in the preliminaries.

Sophomore Abbie Pustis (Andover, Mass.) placed seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.48, while junior Theresa Connolly (North Andover, Mass.) was the 11th runner to cross the line in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:11.57.

Sophomore Sabrina Rizzo (Peabody, Mass.) finished 13th in the 600-meter run (1:47.09), and classmate Samantha Richner (Hanson, Mass.) placed 16th in the 60-meter dash (8.36).

Freshman Shauntel Farland (Burlington, Mass.) added a 16th place performance in the 800-meter run (2:32.53), while junior Sheila O'Sullivan (Westwood, Mass.) finished 17th overall in the shot put (33'3.25").

Next Saturday, the BSU indoor track & field teams will compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships hosted by UMass Dartmouth and Rhode Island College.
