Richner Leads Women's Track & Field at ECAC Indoor Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Several members of the Bridgewater State University women's track & field team competed during the second and final day of the 2015 ECAC Division III Indoor Championships held on Saturday at the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York.

Sophomore Samantha Richner (Hanson, Mass.) garnered All-ECAC honors in the high jump as she tied for fifth place in the event with a leap of five feet, 2.5 inches (1.59 meters).

The Bears' 4x800-meter relay squad featuring juniors Theresa Connolly (North Andover, Mass.) and Samantha Pinkham (Hingham, Mass.), sophomore Sabrina Rizzo (Peabody, Mass.) and freshman Shauntel Farland (Burlington, Mass.) placed tenth in the event with a time of 9:53.44. Connolly also finished 21st in the 1,000-meter run (3:06.01).

The relay team of sophomores Traci Perry (Midleboro, Mass.), Abbie Pustis (Andover, Mass.) and Amanda Lane (Abington, Mass.) and senior Ashley Aldred (Saugus, Mass.) finished 18th in the 4x400 (4:06.08) and 24th in the 4x200 (1:47.91). Pustis added a 13th place performance in the 500-meter dash (1:20.06).

The Bears finished in 41st place in the team standings with 7.5 points. Junior Ariele Krevosky (Oxford, Mass.) earned All-ECAC accolades with a fifth place finish in the pentathlon on Friday.
