BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Traci Perry has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

A native of Middleboro, Massachusetts, Perry placed first in the 200-meter dash (26.31) and second in the 100-meter dash (12.84) at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic.  She also ran a leg on the Bears' winning 4x400-meter relay squad (4:08.28) and competed on BSU's third place 4x100-meter relay team (50.52).

Perry also garnered MASCAC Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week honors for her performance at the season-opening BSU Bears Invitational in March.

Through three meets this outdoor season, Perry has qualified for the Division III New England Championships in both the 100 and 200. She has also qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships in the 4x100. 

During the indoor track & field campaign, Perry earned MASCAC Rookie of the Week accolades for her performance at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in February. She also set the school indoor record in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.57 seconds at the MASCAC Championships to help the Bears secure their first conference indoor title

The outdoor season continues for the BSU women’s track and field team on Friday when the Bears compete at the Eastern Invitational hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University.
