BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University freshman Traci Perry has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Anative of Middleboro, Massachusetts, Perry placed first in both the 200-meter dash and the 100 meter dash at the season-opening BSU Bears Invitational this past weekend.  She posted times of 27.45 seconds in the 200 and 13.53 seconds in the 100.

Perry also garnered MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors during the indoor track & field season for her performance at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in February. She also set the school indoor record in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.57 seconds at the MASCAC Championships to help Bears secure their first conference indoor title

The outdoor season continues for the BSU women’s track and field team on Saturday when the Bears compete at the Snowflake Classic hosted by Tufts University.
