Geldmacher Garners All-ECAC Honors at ECAC DIII Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Becca Geldmacher (Rochester, Mass.) earned All-ECAC honors in the 500-meter dash to lead the Bridgewater State University women's indoor track & field team at day two of the 2014 ECAC Division III Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Geldmacher placed fourth in the 500 with a time of 1:18.70 as she eclipsed her own BSU indoor mark of 1:18.93 set earlier this season at the BU John Thomas Terrier Invitational.

Freshman Samantha Richner (Hanson, Mass.) tied for 13th in the high jump with a leap of five feet, 2.5 inches (1.59 meters), while senior Karen Anselmi (Franklin, Mass.) added a 15th place showing in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.67 seconds.

Senior Melissa Chiasson (Maynard, Mass.) finished 27th in the weight throw (44'9.5"), while sophomore Ariele Krevosky (Oxford, Mass.) also placed 27th in the long jump (15'9.25").

The Bears' 4x400-meter relay team of Geldmacher, Anselmi and freshmen Amanda Lane (Abington, Mass.) and Abbie Pustis (Andover, Mass.) finished 19th in the event with a time of 4:01.50.

Bridgewater finished tied for 47th place in the team standings with five points. Amherst College won the team title with 38 points, followed by MIT in second place (36.5 pts.) and St. Lawrence in third (36 pts.).
