DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women’s lacrosse team scored 80.5 points to finish in third place at the Corsair Classic hosted by UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday.

Ariele Krevosky (Oxford, Mass) and Melissa Chiasson (Maynard, Mass) both placed in three events to lead the Bears.

Krevosky earned one second and a pair of third-place finishes competing in the 100-meter hurdles, long jump, and triple jump. She ran a 16.52 in the hurdles, landed a jump of 15 feet, 2.25 inches (4.63 meters) in the long jump, and posted a distance of 33 feet, three inches (10.13 meters) in the triple jump.

Chiasson garnered a third place showing in the hammer throw, a fifth place finish in the discus, and a seventh place finish in the shot put.  In the hammer she recorded a throw of 132 feet, eight inches (40.46 meters) as well as heave of 100 feet, five inches (30.61 meters) in the discus a throw.  Chiasson also posted a distance of 31 feet, 9.25 inches (9.68 meters) in the shot.

Danielle Poto (North Andover, Mass) placed third in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:00.47. Katherine Boutin (Taunton, Mass) finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:15.58.

Ashley Aldred (Saugus, Mass) earned a fourth-place showing in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.03.  Samantha Pinkham (Hingham, Mass) placed fifth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:22.73, while Laura McHugh (Mansfield, Mass) finished sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.70 seconds as she qualified in the event for the Division III New England Championships.

The Bears’ 4x400 relay team of Aldred, McHugh, Becca Geldmacher (Rochester, Mass), and Michelle Atkins (Chelsea, Mass) placed third with a time of 4:14.44.

The Bears will head to Eastern Connecticut State University on Friday, to compete at the Eastern Invitational. The meet will get underway at 3:00 pm.
