Women's Track & Field Wraps Up Indoor Season at ECAC Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Bridgewater State University women's indoor track and field team competed in the second and final day of the ECAC Division III Championships held at the New Balance Armory on Saturday.

Melissa Chiasson (Maynard, Mass.) paced the Bears with a 12th place showing in the weight throw as she posted a distance of 48 feet, 5.50 inches (14.77 meters).

The Bears' 4x400 relay team of Karen Anselmi (Franklin, Mass.), Ashley Aldred (Saugus, Mass.),Laura McHugh (Mansfield, Mass.), and Caitlin DiLorenzo (Seekonk, Mass.) finished 12th with a time of 4:05.87.

Becca Geldmacher (Rochester, Mass.) rounded out the BSU competitors as she placed 18th in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:22.73.

The Bears did not score in the meet.  Ithaca College won the team title with 76 points, followed by NYU (50 pts.) in second place and Rowan University (48 pts.) in third.
