BOSTON, Mass. –Bridgewater State University junior Melissa Chiasson (Maynard, Mass.) placed 17th in the weight throw during day one of the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at Boston University.

Chiasson, who was the lone member of the BSU women's indoor track and field team to compete on Friday, posted a distance of 46 feet, 0.75 inches (14.04 meters) in the event.

Tomorrow, the second and final day of competition, numerous individual and relay teams will compete for the Bears.
