Robitaille Places Second at the Holy Cross Heptathlon

WORCESTER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior Carrie Robitaille placed second at the Holy Cross Heptathlon held on Wednesday, April 18th and Thursday April 19th in Worcester.

A native of Ludlow, Massachusetts, Robitaille recorded a score of 3,960 points which topped all Division III competitors at the meet.  Nicolle Adams of the University of Hartford notched 4,059 points to win the event.

Robitaille placed third in the javelin (96’2.00”), fourth in the 800-meter run (2:34.08) and fifth in the shot put (27’5.50”).  She also finished sixth in both the 100-meter hurdles (16.52 seconds) and the long jump (16’7.25"), tied for tenth in the high jump (4’9.00”), and posted an 11th place showing in the 200-meter dash (27.94 seconds).

Robitaille currently owns the fourth-highest heptathlon score in the latest Division III New England rankings, and is ninth in the ECAC Division III rankings and tenth on the Open New England (NEICAAA) chart.
