NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Bridgewater State University women's outdoor track and field team competed at the rain-soaked Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday.
The Bears placed sixth overall in the team standings with a score of 61 points. Conn. College was the meet champion with a total of 86 points.
Junior Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, Mass.) had a big day for the Bears as she captured first place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.48, and placed second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:09.43). Lagasse qualified for the New England Division III Championships in the 400 hurdles.
Senior Brittany Page (Winthrop, Mass.) was also an event champion for BSU as she posted a distance of 138 feet, three inches (42.14 meters) in the hammer throw. Page placed fourth in the shot put (30'3.0") as well.
Junior Molly Rouillard (Dartmouth, Mass.) added a fourth place finish in the 400-meter dash (1:02.11), while senior Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, Mass.) placed fourth in the 800-meter run (2:29.97).
Freshman Taylor Robitaille (Ludlow, Mass.) finished third in the pole vault with a height of seven feet, six inches (2.29 meters).
