NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College senior Nicole Mauro broke the school 3,000-meter run record (again) and helped eclipse the 4x800-meter relay mark to lead the Bears at the New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at Smith College.
Mauro posted a time of 10:26.53 to place eighth in the 3,000-meter run. She eclipsed her own school record time of 10:34.16 set earlier this season at the Tufts Invitational.
Mauro and freshmen Amanda Hauswirth (Methuen, MA), Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, MA) and Carissa Penney (Gardner, MA) shattered their own school record in the 4x800 relay as they recorded a time of 10:06.86 to finish in 14th place at the championships. The quartet broke their previous standard of 10:24.06.
