Von Ruden, Ramer Headline Bears' Little East Women's Tennis Award Winners

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Madeline Von Ruden and junior Abigail Ramer have been selected to the 2022 Little East Women's Tennis All-Conference Team which was announced today by LEC Associate Commissioner, Darryl Konicki.

Von Ruden and Ramer were each named to the All-Little East Second Team for both singles and doubles play.

Von Ruden posted a 6-6 singles record (3-3 LEC) competing exclusively out of the top flight. Ramer, who played all but one match at second singles, went 6-5 in singles competition with a 5-2 conference mark. The duo paired up 13 times at the top doubles fight and recorded a 7-6 record with five wins (5-2) over Little East opponents.

Von Ruden and Ramer are each making their second straight appearance on the All-Little East Team.

In two seasons with the Bears, Von Ruden has produced a 13-13 (7-6 LEC) singles record and is 16-13 (10-5 LEC) in doubles play competing exclusively at the top flight for both. Ramer is 14-11 (9-5) in singles competition and 16-13 (10-5) in first doubles action.

Sophomore Meghan Lotti (Stoneham, Mass.) is the Bears' representative on the Little East Sportsmanship Team. Lotti went 8-4 (6-2 LEC) competing mostly at sixth singles in her first collegiate season, while recording a 6-1 (4-0 LEC) mark at third doubles.

Under the guidance of head coach Dave Purpura (7th Year), the BSU women's tennis team went 9-5 in 2022 and finished third in the Little East standings with a 6-2 conference record. Seeded third in the the Little East Tourament, the Bears posted a 5-0 quarterfinal round victory over #6 Salem State University before dropping a 5-0 decision to second-seeded Rhode Island College in the tournament semifinals.
