Anderson, Silva Named to All-Little East Women's Tennis Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Hayley Anderson and sophomore Alisha Silva have been named to the 2015 Little East Conference Women's Tennis All-Conference Team in a vote of the league's nine head coaches.

Anderson earned second team honors in singles play, while Silva and Anderson picked up second team accolades for their strong play at first doubles.

Anderson posted an 11-5 singles mark in her rookie season competing exclusively out of the third flight. The San Antonio, Texas product was undefeated against Little East opponents as she went 8-0 during the regular season and 2-0 during the conference tournament.

Silva and Anderson teamed up for a 9-9 first flight doubles record including a 7-4 mark versus Little East tandems. Two of their seven victories came against fellow all-conference pairings, including an 8-4 win over Worcester State's first team all-conference duo as well as an 8-2 win over UMass Dartmouth's second team all-conference pair.

The BSU women's tennis team wrapped up the 2015 season with an overall record of 10-6 with a 7-1 conference mark. Seeded second in the Little East Tournament, the Bears posted a 5-3 semifinal win over #3 Plymouth State University before dropping a 5-4 decision to #4 UMass Dartmouth in the championship match.
